Is J2DW a charity? Is my donation tax-deductible?
Journey to Diversity Workplaces is a federally chartered non-profit, not a charity, so we can’t issue personal tax receipts. Our non-profit status ensures that we can advocate for government policy changes, which would be impossible if we were a charity.
However, if your contribution is being written off under a Canadian business then you may be eligible for input tax credits and we can issue you a receipt. If this is the case, please email us the name and address of the business.
How do I increase or decrease my monthly donation amount?
If you are already a monthly donor, just email us and let us know what amount you want to change your monthly gift to. Every little bit counts and we are grateful for your generosity.
What do you do with our donations?
1. Pay for this website to operate.
2. Pay summer students to write and do other activities for us. (Varies by year.)
3. Raise J2DW’s profile to help spread the word about our mission.
Are you affiliated with any political party?
Nope.
Do you ever work with other advocacy groups?
J2DW does collaborate with other groups on a case-by-case basis.
How can I volunteer?
Check out our open volunteer posts but we accept non-sliciated volunteer applications year-round.
What are your goals?
Lead by example. Show other organizations and companies (for-profit and non-profit) that you can treat your employees well and still make a profit.
Do you offer any webinars or training?
Not at this time.
Can I book a speaker for my event?
Yes! Check out our Speakers Bureau.
